The Studio Manager supervises a team of five, oversees the resourcing and production troubleshooting, and maintains a high-quality deliverable of projects as they go through the studio department. The Studio Manager also creates overall studio production timelines by tactic and client and manages the seamless execution of mechanicals and creative deliverables that meet industry, agency, and brand standards. Projects include a variety of general and promotional advertising materials: traditional print, outdoor, packaging, web-optimized digital assets, presentations, and others.
Responsibilities
- Assigns, schedules, and estimates all studio activities
- Manages and forecasts required resources, including freelance support
- Creates print-ready mechanicals and style guides for digital projects
- Maintains interaction with project managers and art directors on project scopes and status
- Ensures quality control for all deliverables
- Maintains industry standard and client-specific file-release processes using various delivery methods, including traditional, automated, and web-based
- Recommends, implements, and manages studio procedures for increased efficiency and communication between departments
- Identifies and requests studio software/hardware needs
- Prioritizes projects effectively and manages time accordingly
- Trains and mentors team
- Builds strong working partnerships with Creative Services, Project Management, Print Production, Developers, Editorial, QA, and Account Services
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphics or related field required
- At least 7 years’ experience, with at least 2 years’ management responsibility
- Experience with promotional advertising and general advertising preferred
- Experience with pharmaceutical industry preferred
- Must be detail oriented, assertive, and able to work independently
- Must have a “can-do” attitude, service industry approach, and positive demeanor
- Experience managing and recommending vendors
- Print Production and Digital Graphical Production experience required
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe CS6 design software, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
